Sub-Millimeter Profiling and Monitoring of Any Assets

MetaSpatial EchoProfiler is a high-definition optical profiling and deformation-monitoring system designed to capture the complete structural signature of roads, railways and critical industrial assets. The system records a continuous measurement swath of up to 5 metres, producing precise transverse and longitudinal profiles with sub-millimetre measurement capability.

For road applications, EchoProfiler measures rutting, depressions, bumps, edge deformation, surface irregularities and roughness across the full lane width. It can calculate road-condition indicators such as the International Roughness Index (IRI) while removing many of the blind spots associated with single-wheel-track laser bars or subjective visual inspections. Each detected anomaly is linked to high-accuracy GNSS positioning, imagery and profile geometry, then published to the Evolve data-management and analytics platform or exported to existing GIS and asset-management systems.

Beyond road profiling, EchoProfiler can be configured for a range of precision monitoring applications:

  • Road and runway inspection: precise crossfall, rutting, roughness, depressions, pavement deformation, repair verification and surface-condition monitoring.
  • Railway infrastructure: track deformation, rail alignment, gauge-related geometry, ballast and formation movement, level changes and repeat condition comparison.
  • Mining operations: haul-road profiling, conveyor alignment, structural movement, machinery wear, chute deformation and clearance monitoring.
  • Manufacturing and process plants: machinery movement, production-line alignment, surface deformation, vibration-related displacement and repeat inspection.
  • Conveyor-belt systems: belt sag, edge movement, tracking deviation, roller or support deformation, material build-up and developing mechanical risks.
  • Construction and structural inspection: floor flatness, slab deformation, settlement, design-to-built comparison and compliance verification.
  • Critical maintenance: repeatable measurement of assets where small geometric changes may indicate wear, fatigue or developing failure.
